Community Involvement
Veterans
We’re proud to be a Veteran Friendly Accredited GP practice and to support our veteran community this Remembrance Day.
We know that this Remembrance Day is likely to be particularly challenging for the many veterans in our community and we want you to know that we are trained and committed to effectively identifying and supporting your health needs.
As a Veteran Friendly Accredited practice, our team:
- recognises the importance of identifying veteran patients within our community
- understands the unique health needs that veterans may have
- strives to provide veterans with the very best care and support
- knows about the specialist veteran healthcare services that exist
- undertakes regular training and development to ensure we’re able to deliver the very best care to veterans in our community and meet the health commitments of the Armed Forces Covenant
If you’re a veteran patient, please do let us know that you have served so that we can make sure you receive the most appropriate and best care, if and when you ever need it. You can learn more about the accreditation and how it supports veteran patients, here: rcgp.org.uk/veterans

All Saints Primary School
All Saints Year 6 pupils are involved in two collaborative projects with the Practice. First, they participate in the walking group, joining patients and staff for walks around the local area. This provides an opportunity for different generations to connect, walk, and talk about school work, current affairs and life experiences. The second part of the project focuses on both mental and physical health. The students design posters and presentations, which they display in the surgery’s waiting area. They also present their work to doctors, nurses, pharmacists, staff, and patients. This initiative offers a valuable chance for our pupils to develop their communication skills while educating the community about mental and physical well-being.
Park Run
This practice is now a Park Run Practice. The run takes place every Saturday morning. Our closest park run locations are Croxteth Park and Princes Park.

Green Impact
This year as a practice we have signed up for the ‘Green Impact Awards’ to promote sustainability. Sustainability is most often defined as meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs. It has three main pillars: economic, environmental, and social.
Environmental sustainability is the ability to maintain rates of renewable resource harvest, pollution creation, and non-renewable resource depletion that can be continued indefinitely.
Economic sustainability is the ability to support a defined level of economic production indefinitely.
Social sustainability occurs when the formal and informal processes; systems; structures; and relationships actively support the capacity of current and future generations to create healthy and liveable communities. Socially sustainable communities are equitable, diverse, connected and democratic and provide a good quality of life.
Within Priory Medical Centre this means that we will be promoting sustainability wherever possible. This includes such initiatives as switching to 100% recycled printing paper, hand towels and tissues; promoting recycling for both patients and staff; reducing expenditure on overstock and over-ordering of office supplies; highlighting social prescribing such as encouraging participation in Park Run, volunteering and much more.
We will be highlighting various issues throughout the year to get involved with and we hope you support us in this as much as possible! We only have one Earth and we must protect it for future generations.
