NHS Health checks
We offer NHS Health Checks to support patients in maintaining good health and identifying potential risks early. NHS Health Checks are free, five-yearly assessments available to adults aged 40–74 who do not have pre-existing conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease, or high blood pressure. These 15–20 minute appointments are carried out by a nurse, pharmacist or HCA and include checks of blood pressure, cholesterol, and body mass index (BMI), alongside a discussion about lifestyle factors such as diet, exercise, and smoking. Following the check, patients receive personalised advice to help reduce their risk of conditions including heart disease, stroke, diabetes, kidney disease, and dementia, with further tests or treatment arranged if required. Patients aged over 75 can also request a health check, which includes similar assessments with an additional focus on cognitive health and identifying early signs of dementia.
Mental Health
Dedicated annual health checks for patients living with certain long-term mental health conditions such as Schizophrenia, Psychosis or Bipolar. These appointments are designed to support overall physical wellbeing, as individuals with mental health conditions can be at higher risk of conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure. The check includes monitoring of physical health measures such as weight, blood pressure, and blood tests, alongside a review of lifestyle factors including diet, exercise, smoking, and alcohol use. It also provides an opportunity to discuss any concerns and ensure patients are receiving the right support for both their physical and mental health, helping to promote a more holistic approach to care.
CVD prevention and reduction
Led by our clinical pharmacist, focused on reducing the risk of heart disease and stroke. This service includes assessment and management of key risk factors such as cholesterol levels, blood pressure, smoking, and lifestyle habits, with personalised advice and treatment plans to support long-term health. For patients who meet the clinical criteria, we are also able to offer Inclisiran, an innovative treatment that helps to lower cholesterol levels and reduce cardiovascular risk. By taking a proactive and preventative approach, this clinic supports patients in improving their heart health and overall wellbeing.
