🚨 9 MISSED APPOINTMENTS ALREADY THIS MORNING – PLEASE HELP US REDUCE DNAs! 🚨

Today at Priory Medical Centre, one of our doctors has had 8 consecutive appointments where patients did not attend.

Across the practice, we have already recorded 9 missed appointments this morning alone.

We know that unexpected things happen, and sometimes patients genuinely cannot attend. However, when an appointment is missed without cancellation, that time is lost and another patient misses the opportunity to be seen.

📊 The figures at Priory Medical Centre

❌ 2025/26 financial year: 1,017 missed appointments – approximately 85 every month.

❌ 2026/27 financial year: Already 563 missed appointments in just the first six months.

💷 What does this cost the NHS?

The NHS estimates that a missed GP appointment costs approximately £30 in wasted appointment capacity.

At Priory Medical Centre, that equates to:

That is money and valuable clinical time that could otherwise be used to support patient care.

We regularly hear how difficult it can be to access GP appointments. Our clinicians and reception team work hard to make appointments available, but we need your help to ensure they are not wasted.

Even a cancellation at short notice may give us the opportunity to offer that appointment to somebody else.
