❤️ Important Update: Delays in Receiving ECG Result

Dear Patients,

We would like to make you aware of an ongoing issue affecting the delivery of ECG (heart tracing) results from both the Royal Liverpool University Hospital and Aintree University Hospital.

🏥 What is happening?

For approximately the last three months, GP practices across Liverpool have been experiencing significant difficulties obtaining ECG reports from these hospitals.

Previously, the Royal Liverpool Hospital was able to upload ECG reports directly to an online system, allowing GP practices to access and review them promptly. Aintree Hospital has also attempted to move to this system, but unfortunately this has not been successful.

📮 Why are results taking so long?

As a result, we are currently in a situation where ECG reports from both hospitals are being sent to GP practices by post only.

Unfortunately, these reports are taking up to FOUR WEEKS to reach us.

😔 We understand your frustration

We fully appreciate how frustrating and worrying this delay can be, particularly when you are waiting for the results of a heart test.

We are receiving an increasing number of enquiries from understandably concerned patients, and we wanted to explain the situation openly.

⚠️ Please be aware — this is a city-wide issue!

We would like to emphasise that this is NOT an issue specific to Priory Medical Centre.

Every GP practice across Liverpool has been affected by the same problem, and unfortunately the delays are entirely outside our control.

💙 Our reassurance to you

Please be assured that as soon as we receive an ECG report that requires action or further follow-up, we will contact you as promptly as possible.

We are not deliberately withholding results, nor are reports sitting unread at the practice.

The simple reality is that we cannot review a report that we have not yet received.

🙏 A little patience and understanding, please

We appreciate that this is far from an ideal situation, and we share your frustration.

Our reception and clinical teams are doing everything they can to support patients while these difficulties continue.

We kindly ask for your patience and understanding towards both our practice staff and our hospital colleagues, who are also working within the limitations of the current system.

We sincerely hope that normal electronic reporting will be restored as soon as possible.

❤️ Your health remains our priority

If you are experiencing new or worsening symptoms, please do not wait for your ECG results before seeking medical advice.

Thank you for your continued patience, kindness and understanding.

💙 The Team at Priory Medical Centre
